SARAH

At heart, Sarah is a relationship builder. She has used this skill to lead teams, fundraise, facilitate, run organizations and care for her family, neighbors and communities.

As the executive Director of LOVE for 20 years, Sarah is a great manager with a track record of staff retention in a field known for high staff turnover. She has an ability to motivate and provide clear direction, understanding that job satisfaction and recognition are of value, that compensation alone does not lead one to attract and retain the right people.

Sarah is experienced in taking visions and ideas and grounding them in realistic, measurable objectives that help build the path forward. In her work with the Let’s Care Collective she has co-created an innovative new model for sharing Lived Experience to create positive change in government systems.

Through ongoing relational work with individuals, Sarah has developed trusting networks in ANS, Mi'kmaw and 2SLGBTQIA+ communities. Her care and perseverance have cultivated a keen ability to build trust with those who are reluctant to trust.

Sarah lives in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, with her partner and dogs.
